New Judge Appointed to Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court

Governor Jim Pillen today appointed Brynne Holsten Puhl to serve on the bench of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court. This appointment fills a vacancy resulting from the recent retirement of Judge James R. Coe.

NOTICE: Mail addressed to the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court’s old PO Box to be returned to sender

LINCOLN, Neb. — Effective July 1, 2024, the United States Postal Service will no longer forward mail addressed to our decommissioned Post Office Box. To avoid having mail returned unsent, please refer to our June 12, 2023 news release.

NEWS RELEASE: Judge Coe to retire after more than 35 years with the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court

Judge James R. Coe will be retiring on April 15, 2024 after serving more than 35 years on the bench of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court. The court extends its appreciation and thanks to Judge Coe for his many years of dedicated service.

Rules of Procedure, Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court

The Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court’s revised Rules of Procedure are now available (https://www.newcc.gov/resources/court-forms-and-publications/rules-of-procedure).

Amendments to Rules 26 and 47, and Addendum 2 were adopted at a December 28, 2023 public meeting. Amendments to Rule 47 and Addendum 2 became effective December 28, 2023. Amendments to Rule 26 became effective January 1, 2024. Adopted amendments to adjudicatory Rules 5, 13, 14, and 15 were adopted at the same public meeting and became effective January 24, 2024, following review and approval by the Nebraska Supreme Court.
