NEWS RELEASE: Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Burial Benefit To Increase

The swearing-in ceremony of Brynne Holsten Puhl as a judge of the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place in the Warner (East) Chamber of the Nebraska State Capitol, located off the Rotunda on the 2nd Floor, 1445 K St., Lincoln, Neb. A reception for the new judge will take place following the ceremony at the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court, 1010 Lincoln Mall, Suite 100, Lincoln, Neb.

New Judge Appointed to Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court

Rules of Procedure, Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court

The Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court’s revised Rules of Procedure are now available (https://www.newcc.gov/resources/court-forms-and-publications/rules-of-procedure).

Amendments to Rules 26 and 47, and Addendum 2 were adopted at a December 28, 2023 public meeting. Amendments to Rule 47 and Addendum 2 became effective December 28, 2023. Amendments to Rule 26 became effective January 1, 2024. Adopted amendments to adjudicatory Rules 5, 13, 14, and 15 were adopted at the same public meeting and became effective January 24, 2024, following review and approval by the Nebraska Supreme Court.

These schedules are effective January 1, 2024.

NEWS RELEASE: Change in mileage reimbursement rate

Effective January 1, 2024, the mileage rate will become 67.0 cents per mile for travel to seek medical treatment or while participating in an approved vocational rehabilitation plan. See related news release (https://www.newcc.gov/home/court-news/2024-01-news).
